Dhulikel is a unique hospital in Nepal, based on a philosophy to give high quality treatment to the poor. The hospital is non-governmental and non-profit, and patients only pay what they are able to. In a country that is both one of the worlds poorest, and also one of the most corrupt, Dhulikhel Hospitals social profile is both extremely needed and rare. Dhulikhel Hospital is situated right outside of Kathmandu and covers a populations of over 1,9 million people from surrounding areas. They also run 18 small outpost hospitals in poor and remote villages in Nepal, where patient normally don’t have the means or money to reach the hospital themselves.
